The Hunter 336 offers the cruising sailor a choice. Two equally great layouts are available: a large open salon with a full wrap around settee and forward V-berth is perfect for those who like to entertain, but occasionally have guests aboard. The other option gives a terrific private forward stateroom for family or friends. Both options consist of warm hand-rubbed teak, great looking ash accents, and durable designer fabrics throughout. The full service galley was given tremendous thought and design input. The sink, for instance, includes twin, deep basins, dual cover-cutting boards, and a separate drain board - all done in tough fiberglass for easy cleaning and maintenance. The built-in dish rack holds the standard non-slip dishes in place and provides a handy sink light as well. The icebox includes a hydraulic assist to keep it open while searching for that last onion or tomato. Aft, you'll see an extra-wide queen size berth, hanging locker and plenty of storage. The unique cockpit design allows for more headroom down below, where you really need it.
Topsides, by bringing the coaming outboard to the rail, more usable space has been ergonomically carved out of the cockpit, providing for a custom steering console complete with tables and drink storage. The helm seat actually tilts back to become the boarding step, and as in all Hunters, there is a superior cockpit and swim platform storage. Hunter believes that a boat should perform as well as it looks, and the 336 with it's powerful rig is no exception. It utilizes a large-roach main, full battens, end of boom sheeting, and a high aspect ratio jib. The 336 makes shorthanded sailing a snap. Small, but important, touches like twin Dorade vents, integral anchor rollers, midship cleats, and electronics pod are all included aboard the 336. Hunter goes further in backing their boats with one of the best warranties in the business, including a five-year osmosis or blister warranty. The Hunter 336 comes with the Cruise Pac as standard equipment. It isn't just sails, winches, and running rigging. It's an extensive list of things like galley, anchor, fire extinguisher, running lights, life jackets - even a copy of Chapman's Piloting, Seamanship, and Small Boat Handling.

Like all modern Hunters, the Hunter 336 has a light, airy look and feel. The 336 comes in two layouts to fit the boat owner’s needs. The first has a large open salon with a full wrap around settee and open forward V-berth with curtains. This is designed for folks who only occasionally have sleep over guests. It is ideal for entertaining below. The second layout below offers an enclosed forward stateroom for family or friends. This second version is preferred by several charter companies. There are a fair amount of teak and ash accents below.
You look at a galley and you want to know if you can reach everything, store enough things and clean up in a reasonable manner. Talking with several women who are considerably more discriminating about the galley. They like the Hunters. Twin sinks are covered with cutting boards with a separate drain board. The icebox includes a hydraulic assist to keep it open while searching below. Built in dish rack, glasses and cup holders are all little features which bring smiles to the users.
The aft cabin features an extra-wide queen size berth, hanging locker and plenty of storage. The cockpit design is utilized in the aft cabin layout to give more headroom.
The Hunter 336 has a large comfortable cockpit. It is nearly round and seats six to eight. It has been designed for comfort and ease of use with higher back rests, a built-in table off the pedestal, stern rail seats and a walk through transom for ease of boarding. The transom has two storage lockers, a stainless steel swim ladder with steps, a rubrail for protection for dinghy access and a transom shower. A line locker in front of the companionway helps keep the cockpit neat underway. The short traveler mounted in front of the wheel doesn’t give you a whole lot in the way of trim but it certainly is easy to reach the main sheet from the helm or cockpit.
The deck is cleared of most working lines or sheets by running the lines from the mast under a bridgedeck and back to the cockpit. Most of the maintenance work above decks is minimized by stainless steel handrails.
